This beautifully crafted rocking horse, made by the renowned Relko Rocking Horse Stud company of Yarde, North Bovey, Devon, England, is a rare find. Originally created as a showroom sample, this piece has never been ridden, adding to its pristine condition and unique provenance.
Its saddle shows some wear and there is minor wear visible on the rockers, testament to its age. Structurally, it remains in excellent condition, embodying the durability and timeless design Relko is celebrated for.
Unlike many Relko creations, this horse did not receive a certificate of registration in the Rocking Horse Stud Book due to its status as a showroom sample.
It takes up residence in Dallas, TX.
"My family business was a sales rep toy group for the Southwest region so this Relko was never retailed and was a showroom sample. My rep group represented some of the best and oldest toy manufacturers in Europe. It has been in my family for 44-45 years. It's never been stored in sunlight and always kept indoors in a ac controlled environment."
